Electrology

Electrology Services

Electrology is a method of permanent hair removal that works by treating each individual hair follicle with a precise, controlled electrical current to prevent future growth. It is the only method of permanent hair removal recognized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Unlike temporary methods, electrology is effective on all skin tones and hair types, making it a reliable and long-term solution for unwanted hair.

It is a safe and effective solution for unwanted hair on both the face and body. Services are tailored to each hair growth cycle, hair type and density, and treatment goals.

Service Categories

Facial Hair Removal

Precise treatment on the eyebrows, upper lip, chin, jawline, and neck.
Facial hair is often influenced by hormones, which can lead to persistent or recurring growth in certain areas. Because of the density and growth patterns, consistent treatments are important to effectively target hairs throughout their growth cycle.

Body Hair Removal

Treatment for unwanted hairs on areas including arms, underarms, chest, back, abdomen, legs, and more.
Body hair tends to grow in larger treatment zones and may vary in thickness depending on the area. Treatment plans are adjusted to address both coarse and finer hairs efficiently while working through broader growth patterns.

Hormonal Hair Growth

Targeted treatment for excess hair growth influenced by hormonal changes such as puberty, PCOS, pregnancy, menopause, etc.
Hormonal hair growth can be more persistent and may continue to develop over time. Ongoing maintenance treatments may be recommended to manage new growth and maintain long-term results.

Ingrown Hair Treatment

Ingrown hairs often result from curved or coarse hair re-entering the skin, leading to irritation or discoloration. Electrolysis can safely treat and prevent ingrown hairs by eliminating the hair at the follicle, reducing irritation and inflammation over time. Treating the follicle directly helps prevent the hair from growing back improperly and supports clearer, healthier skin.

Gender-Affirming Care

For clients seeking permanent hair removal as part of their transition, including surgical preparation and ongoing treatment.
Treatment in these areas requires a structured and consistent approach to achieve full clearance within a specific timeline. Care is performed with a focus on precision, discretion, and meeting surgical and/or personal transition goals.

Appointments

Treatment sessions are scheduled in varying lengths depending on the area being treated, hair density, and stage of the hair growth cycle. Larger or denser areas may require longer or more frequent sessions, particularly during the initial clearing phase.

The pace of treatment may also be adjusted based on how quickly a client would like to achieve clearance, with more frequent or longer sessions supporting faster progress. All treatment plans are structured to maintain safe, consistent, and effective results.

As treatment progresses and hair growth becomes finer and less dense, session length and frequency are typically reduced. Each treatment plan is adjusted over time to support efficient progress and long-term results.

What to Expect

Electrology is a progressive process that requires consistency and patience. Hair grows in cycles, and each individual hair must be treated during its active growth phase (anagen) to achieve permanent results.

A single hair growth cycle typically takes 3–4 months, meaning new hairs will continue to emerge over time. For this reason, consistent treatments are necessary to fully clear an area as hairs cycle through their growth stages.

Achieving full and permanent clearance of an area generally takes 18–24 months, depending on the area being treated, hair type, and individual factors. Staying consistent with scheduled appointments is essential for timely and effective results.
